Frederich Froebel

Welcome to The Froebel Trust

The FROEBEL TRUST traces its history as a charity, through its predecessor the Incorporated Froebel Educational Institute (IFEI), back to 1892.

Following a substantial reorganisation in 2012 the charity was relaunched as The FROEBEL TRUST with a new head office adjacent to Roehampton University. The charity is now able to provide a much stronger focus on, and promote, the principles of early years education developed by Friedrich Froebel through:

  • influencing and contributing to the development of the UK early years teaching frameworks;
  • research grants and PhD bursaries across leading universities;
  • conferences, seminars, and continuing professional development courses for practitioners;
  • the development of teaching materials, publications and literature;
  • the support of Froebelian kindergartens both in the UK and abroad;
  • working with other charities and NGOs to provide Froebelian early years education to disadvantaged communities;
  • advice, assistance, information and guidance.

The work of the Trust continues to develop and reach out to new practitioners and institutions in the UK and abroad. If you feel that our work is of interest to you, please contact us.
